bat DNA species test
We test for all UK species of bat as well as exotic species from abroad. Our tests retrieve DNA sequence directly and are therefore 100% accurate.

Sample types
Samples are usually guano, although wing membrane portions or bones also work. Each test is based on a single guano for accuracy. We request clients send several guano to allow repeat tests where DNA preservation is lower.
It is best to send samples in small plastic tubes in a jiffy back to the address shown on the left.

Mixed species assemblages are best separated out based on guano size and morphology. Tests that attempt identify all species present at the same time cannot use direct DNA sequences and are less accurate. To maintain our rigor and accuracy we therefore analyze guano individually.
Price rates
Most established clients utilize a 'tab' system in which we bill them after a number of samples have been sent. Tab rates are lower than non tab rates because of the administrative economy. We offer a standard service in which results will normally be returned by email within a two week period, and a premium service in which we endeavor to return results within 7 working days.

Rate Price per sample
Standard tab rate £60
Premium tab rate £65
Non tab standard single sample £70
Non tab standard multiple samples £65
Non tab premium single sample £80
Non tab premium multiple samples. £75
